[android-developers] Samsung S3 performance issues with ScrollView and Fragments

Here are the basics:

Finishing an app for a major news outlet, implementing most of the best practices recommended, i.e. Fragments, Loader Manager, Asynch Tasks, Content provider and services, etc,
All appears to be nominal, reliability, performance and robustness is good on all devices that we have tested (Nexus, etc).

There is one device that seems completely out of bounds in terms of UI performance and it is the Samsung S3.
It seems the scroll view and fragments in the UI are magnitudes slower than even on older devices like Galaxy Nexus (Samsung) - however that just maybe the manifestation of other issues on this devices, i.e. ram, memory, etc.

Has anyone experienced anything like this?

I have briefly looked into several issues that users have noted on this device that may or may not improve general performance, power saver modes, animation speed - but this would not be a viable solution to our problem, since we need the same code base to run on all devices.

Could use some insights!
